I was surfing Twitter last night, our mate Jess over at Epheriell Designs came up with a great idea. You see her father has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Being winter and also the chemotherapy drugs, play havoc on their bodies being able to keep warm.
Jess noticed a little box at the Royal Brisbane Hospital Day Oncology Unit where people have knitted scarves, mittens and beanies for the cancer patients to take to keep warm. But this box was lacking in the unisex/mens department, so this is where Jess decided to take things into her own hands.
She is asking for people to help her reach her goal of 100 beanies (scarves and mittens). So if you can crochet or knit (or have some preloved in good condition) and would like to help, head to Epheriell Designs blog or click the banner in the sidebar for details on how you can get involved.
I know this is not kid related, but I just couldn’t pass this opportunity to help Jess get the word out. Most of us have been touched by cancer in some way and this is a great way to help without actually donating dollars.
Thank you SO much for sharing this with your readers, Maryanne! xx
My pleasure Jess, I hope you get well over 100 and need to get that bigger box for them 🙂
