A Cozy Family Night in
As adults, we remember a few specific memories from our childhood. For some, it’s hiking trips, for others it’s riding your bike outside. I think we can all agree that some of the best childhood memories were the ones where you and your family spent time together for a cozy night in. Whether it be lazy Sundays or Friday movie nights, so many of us have fond memories of spending time with each other indoors; so why not pass it along to the next generation? Here are some tips on how to make your cozy night in one of the most memorable.
Have a PJ party!
No night in is complete without comfy clothes, but why not take it to the next level with some cozy pjs? If you’re planning ahead, save specific pajamas for this special night. It will give you all something to look forward to and give the kids a chance to show off their favorite night time outfit.
Pillow Forts
Even though this might be a little messy, pillow forts are totally worth it. Collect all the pillows and blankets you can find and get creative. The best ones are ones that you make up on the fly! In order to make sure that your fort is super comfy, make sure you have blankets to cover the ground. You could also try putting a mattress on the floor, but of course make sure all your mattresses are super comfy. If you’re in the market for one, check out Leesa for one of the most comfortable mattresses.
Puppet Shows
One of the best crafts for a cozy night in is to make your own puppets. Cut out some characters from construction paper and put some cardboard behind them to keep them sturdy. Tape a popsicle stick to it and you’re ready to go! Letting the kids create their own characters and put on a show, will help bring out their creativity!
Play a game
Choose a game that works best for your family. There’s Charades, Simon Says, or one of your favourite board games. Either way pick something fun that won’t get too competitive!
Make a snack
Snack time is always hard when it comes to a night in because everyone likes different food. So why not have them all? Before the night starts have everyone in the family choose one snack, buy them all, and eat buffet style. Have a little bit of everything so everyone’s happy! Helping prepare them as a family will also be a fun activity!
Watch a movie
When it’s time to settle down, turn on a movie for everyone to watch. Maybe it’s a family favorite, or a new release. Either way, a movie is the perfect ending to a perfect evening of family fun and memories.
