Introducing: Empire Lane

Featured/ Furnish

Youd travel a long way to meet a more passionate kids interior design devotee than Empire Lane, Director, Nicole Chapman.

Nicole Chapman, a freelance interior design and beauty journalist, got the idea for the handmade nursery decor range in 2011 when her now one year old son Max was born. “I struggled to find an Australian made mobile that reflected the eclectic style of Max’s room so I took to the needle and thread and crafted one myself” she says.

After receiving a number of requests from friends and family to create more of them the idea of developing an entire range was born. It took over twelve months in development but in January 2012 Empire Lane was officially launched to a very receptive audience.

If youre looking for something a little quirky for your little ones space Empire Lane offers a comprehensive range of distinctive nursery décor with true designer flair (without the designer price tag).

œDesigning a childs space is about creating a canvas for the magic of childhood to take place. I aim to create statement pieces that bring about a real sense of joy and creativity to a room. By having just one or two truly unique pieces you can really bring an entire room to life. Its about putting a modern twist on traditional childrens spaces, says Chapman of the range.

The Empire Lane range includes stunning handmade baby mobiles superbly designed using an eclectic mix of fabric combinations sure to enhance any nursery. No two pieces are the same and at just $69.95 you can buy one of these true artisan articles for you babys room.

In keeping with the typically hand crafted nature of the brand Empire Lane has recently released a range of ultra chic change tbale mat covers. The sometimes eccentric array of fabrics will transform your babys “stink station” into an uber-cool haven. Each cover is machine washable and retails from just $59.95.
