Inspired by an iconic 1960s Sanderson fabric ‘Floppy Poppy’ and driven by a passion for sourcing and up-cycling gorgeous retro floral prints, a huge fabric collection evolved into a successful business in London and has recently launched in Sydney.
˜I worked very hard and with lots of passion to create a brand I love. I really wanted to get Fabulous Vintage launched in Australia when I moved here permanently, but I found the availability of quality vintage fabric was limited, says Fabulous Vintage founder, Bridget Knox.
Bridget decided to source vintage fabric from around the world, mainly the UK, and put it to good use making stunning cushions, lampshades and wall art here in Australia. Every piece of fabric found is a result of days trawling the internet and Bridget is often awake at 2am looking for fabric. Fabulous Vintage does source vintage fabric in Australia although its harder to find large quantities.
˜The wonderful floral prints of the 1960s and 1970s that I love are hard to come by and the few meters of each print only makes a few cushions or lampshades so all of my products are produced in very small quantities. This makes them really rare and very special. Occasionally I stumble upon the same fabric twice or even three times “ I love it when that happens.
