Today we have the pleasure of getting to know Katie from Vintagebubbles a little bit better, so Katie….
Tell us about your business:
Vintagebubbles produces handmade clothing for little people from 12mths to 6 years old. Using 100% cotton.
What inspired you to start your business?
Having my two girls and I couldnt find anything I really liked in the shops so I started making clothes for them that compliant the current trends and also have a range of clothing that mums could mix and match from season to season.
Is there an interesting anecdote behind your business name?
Can I say no, it was actually my ebay name from many moons ago.
What is the most satisfying part of what you do?
I get to do something that I love at home and know that I can make both big people and little people happy every single day. A true joy and blessing.
Have you tried something in business that didnt work as planned, or on the flip side “ worked out better than expected?
I guess choosing a fabric range can be a hit or miss really as fabric combos that I love and think will do great are still sitting in my fabric cupboard and fabric that I think are okay run off the shelves and I have to order more than I expected.
What would be your best tip for someone thinking about selling their handcrafted goods?
Do it !!! but do your research and have a plan behind you.
What is your favourite item you make?
My twirly skirts are a winner for me, full skirt and one big ruffle band!!! Its a pleasure to see photos of these skirts on my customers as the girls are doing big twirls¦.
