Collaborate for a Cause 2015

Auction/ Event/ Shopping

Now in it’s 5th year Collaborate for a Cause just keeps getting bigger and bigger! What an amazing collection of handmade creations are in store for you this year!

If you are not familiar with Collaborate for a Cause – it is a super special annual challenge where amazing handmade businesses from all around Australia – collaborate, create and donate. Businesses get together, decide on a theme then design and create handmade products to package together to create a very tempting collation ready to be put up for auction. Each collaboration group select their own charity recipient and all money raised from the sale of their collaboration goes to that deserving charity.

So after months of organising, designing, sewing, and preparation the auction is ready to kick off tomorrow night 24th July 2015 – 8pm AEST time.

In order to bid (and hopefully win your dream package) you just need to follow a few steps to register as a bidder – you can find all the information HERE on how to bid.

So I’d love to share all the creations in the auction- but this blog post would go on forever, so here is just a quick selection of some of the amazing collations you will find in this years challenge –

5 minutes with/ Meet The Maker
Tell us a little about you & your business.

At Monkeychops, I like to create things that are a little different, a little unique and a lot handmade.

I make loads of accessories including:

  • headbands
  • fascinators
  • hair clips and pins
  • hats and beanies
  • hand painted wooden bangles
  • rings
  • bracelets
  • necklaces

I also make homewares including handwoven wall hangings and hessian wreaths and Christmas decorations.

What do you love about your creative business?

I love that Monkeychops  is constantly evolving, I love to create so I just keep adding new and exciting products to my long, long list of projects.  I love that I use recycled denim to create cuff bracelets, I love that I use my grandmother’s button collection to make rings, I love that no matter what I make, it wall always have an element of handmade to it. And the thing I love most is that I can do what I enjoy and call that work while still have plenty of time for my family.
