We need a competition!

giveaway

I think it is high time we had a competition here at Handmade Kids.  Who doesn’t like winning something, and winning a cute handmade item is even better.

So for the last few days I have been tossing and turning with this, do I make it easy, or do I make it a bit harder and interesting, such a dilemma.  So I went the interesting option, after all, in my life I can do with all the entertainment I can get.

So if you would like the chance to win this hand-knitted doll, see the details below.  She really is really lovely with some absolutely gorgeous detailing.

So here are the rules:

  1.  You need to tell me your daggiest or worst attempt at creating something homemade.  It can be anything, baking, sewing any craft you like!  Now don’t be embarrassed we know there is a lot of talent out there when it comes to creating, but I am sure there are many like me who give it a go, but it just isn’t up to scratch.  I can even post photos of my shonky Christmas decorations if it will help.  Just tell me about  your attempt in the comments section.
  2. The competition is open to Australian residents only, if you win, you must have an Australian postal address.
  3. You must leave your website or email address so I can contact you should you win.
  4. Competition closes at the end of the month.
  5. If you really really don’t want to tell me your disasters, I will let you off the hook and you can just leave a comment (don’t forget your email address – or your comment won’t be published).

I was making my son a pair of tracksuit pants for school this year and manage to get the front and back mixed up and sewed them up wrong. They are still waiting in the cupboard for me to unpick them. Might do in a few years when my daughter will need them!!!

I was trying to be creative and make my son some MCN’s as I am new to them, well I’m not quite sure how I did it but I managed to sew them into a large ball. I am still confused as to what I did wrong lol… the second one I sewed the leg holes shut?? I have given up and will buy from now on.

I was painting my bedroom and had the paint tin balancing on a step of the step ladder. Time to move…. so I got down careful not to knock the tin, only to close the ladder and watch the tin of paint fly across the carpet. : (

Last time I did some scrapbooking I managed to get a nasty cut with my scapel trying to cut some fiddly bits of paper, it resulted in an interesting layout with some bonus blood.

When my niece was born I started to sew her a gorgeous stuffed elephant. Even though I love sewing I’m really not good at it. After unpicking the bloody thing for a third time I chucked it in my sewing box and vowed to finish it later. My niece is now nearly 5 and the elephant is still unfinished!
